SENIOR citizens of Issy Geshen Lamont Home for the Aged rejoiced with the volunteers from World Mission Society Church of God in Durban recently.
The World Mission Society Church of God established by Christ Ahnsahnghong Nim in 1964, held various volunteer services throughout South Africa simultaneously on 26 January to commemorate the Sacred Birth of Christ Ahnsahnghong.
The members of the church in Durban, though just a handful, took on the role of entertaining the members of the Old Age Home in Lamont.
“We truly want to share the love of God taught to us by Christ Ahnsahnghong Nim with all people throughout the world, and we are grateful that we were able to come here and do just that,” said Resego Matlakala, church leader of the Durban branch.
He said old age homes such as Issy Geshen were needed to take care of the elderly who often suffered terrible abuse and neglect.
“We went to entertain, lift up their spirits and let them know we appreciate them,” he said.
